Nestled in the heart of Istria, THE HOUSE IN ISTRIA offers a peaceful retreat not far from the village. Set within 2 hectares of private land, the house is surrounded by unspoiled nature, where you can relax to the soothing sounds of birdsong and the gentle chirping of crickets, while enjoying the refreshing scents of trees, immortelle, and lavender. The 72 m² standalone house is part of a biodynamic farm that emphasizes tranquility and privacy, located on a secluded hill with no nearby neighbors. It provides the perfect opportunity to unwind in the pristine environment of the Dragonja River Valley, a Protected Natural Heritage area.

Guests can make use of the covered outdoor kitchen, fully equipped with all the essentials, along with a dining table and outdoor fireplace. There’s also a charming dining area under a linden tree in the garden, ideal for enjoying meals outdoors. For complete relaxation, sun loungers are provided. Visitors have full access to the garden, olive grove, beehive, and seasonal vegetable garden.

Located on a hill, the house can be accessed via a private, somewhat steep road, partly made of gravel. Please note, the road is not suitable for campervans. The house is heated in winter by a wood-burning stove, ensuring warmth and comfort throughout the colder months.

An extra bed for one child (up to 7 years old) can be provided in the living room on the sofa, free of charge.

Surroundings

The house offers beautiful views of the nearby village of Župančiči, located just 500 meters away. Below the house, you’ll find the olive grove, and the surroundings are rich with lavender, immortelle, and rosemary. A stream runs 300 meters below the house, while a walking path through the forest is located just above the property.

In the nearby town of Marezige (3 km away), you’ll find a wine fountain and a selection of excellent local cuisine. The sea is just 10 km away. The Dragonja Valley is home to ancient villages, as well as the coastal towns of Portorož (known for its thermal spa), Sečovlje salt pans, and Piran. Additionally, Croatia is just a short distance away.
