Holliday Home house Metul is located in the Upper Savinja Valley. Completely free surrounded by forests and overlooking valleys, with heated pool and near the village of Luce.

Hoeve Metul is located in the middle of unspoiled nature, in the embrace of meadows and forests. We are separated from the village of Luče by 100 meters above sea level, so you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Luče, Mount Raduha and the surrounding mountain peaks (Dleskovškova planota, Križevnik, Veliki vrh, Velika planina).
The history of the farmstead dates back to 1426, where the landowner Urh (Ulrik) Metul is first mentioned in archives. Since then, 13 families have lived on Metulov. The main activity of the farm has always been cattle breeding. Thirty years ago, father Bina and mother Jožica decided to expand their activities with tourist purposes, so the farm became a tourist farm as well. With the retirement of his mother and father, the farm was taken over by 13th Metul family: son Tomaž and wife Tadeja and children Tina and Naca.
The upper part of the house has been renovated and modernly furnished with two apartments with their own entrance. Next to the house we have built a heated outdoor pool with sliding roof so that the swimming season here is extended well into September.
At the Metul Homestead you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while, enjoy the peace and quiet, or you can opt for a more active vacation and explore the area by e-bike or on foot. If you wish, we organize excursions with guided tours (Robanov kot, Matkov kot, Logarska dolina, visit to alpine meadows …).
The house has bedrooms for 4 persons. A sleeping coach can be used for the 5th person.

Outdoor pool:
You can enjoy the outdoor pool (8m x 4m), with a large terrace. The pool is heated by biomass and is covered with a movable transparent pool roof, so you can swim even on a windy day. It has a built-in countercurrent for swimming and is illuminated, so you can swim in the evening too. Deck chairs and umbrellas are available on the terrace.
Electric bicycles:
We offer for rent five fully sprung e-bikes, with which you can discover the beautiful corners of Logarska dolina, Robanov kot, Matkov kot, Velika planina.
If you wish, we can also organize one-day bicycle tours to alpine meadows: Koča na Podvežaku mountain pasture, Koča na Loki mountain pasture, Javorje mountain pasture, Riharski mlin, Repov slap.

Everything was top! Homeowners were extremely friendly. We were allowed to pick vegetables and eat from their own garden. The flat was modern, new and fully equipped. Environment was fantastic, the farm was on the mountain with beautiful mountain views. The pool was also fantastic, next year we will come again!
Modern, clean flat with a fantastic pool, fantastic views and wonderful peace and quiet. Our host was on holiday himself, but his 17-year-old niece took excellent care of everything :-). In terms of catering, we had to get used to the remoteness a little, but the restaurant in the village is very nice, offering schnitzel and pizza, for example, but also typical Slovenian food at good prices and with good-humoured staff.
Grocery shopping is possible within reasonable limits in the village (5 min. by car, surprisingly large assortment for the size of the village) and otherwise 30 min. by car. (Currently, due to the ongoing renovation work after the big rain of 2023, many routes take a little longer than usual due to some traffic lights).
The landscape is a dream. Our excursions took us to Ljubljana (a beautiful city!), the Rinka waterfall in the Logar valley, the somewhat smaller but no less beautiful Repov waterfall, the Savinja river, Lake Velenje and by e-bike from the farm to Mount Kogel. With more time, we could have thought of many more things to do.
We used the wonderful pool almost every day and almost always had it to ourselves. The very nice grandma offered us salad from her fantastic vegetable garden, among other things. A wonderful holiday!
We felt a little sorry for the young dog, who spent a lot of time in the kennel and jumped at us a little too wildly for our liking when he was allowed out. A car is required.
Clean, comfortable, quiet and peaceful. You can enjoy the wonderful views and have multiple places in the garden to use as well as a pool. Perfect combination of everything if you want to explore the surroundings.
Super friendly hosts – they told us we could pick anything from their garden and we cooked dinner from it! We also asked the hosts if we could try milking their cows and they were more than happy to show us!
Very new and modern apartments in a beautiful location. Kitchen is well equipped with a huge fancy coffee machine and the bathroom is very spacious.
Fridge was open and turned off when we arrived which was incredibly annoying as we arrived with food for the stay.
The apartment is missing a few basics that would make it a lot more comfortable. For example balcony furniture, a coffee table and sofa cushions.
The pool is not private for guests. We planned to spend our last afternoon having a swim but were disappointed to find it occupied by the owners teenage son and his friends.
Apartment 1 has a balcony but the view is completely obscured by wooden slats. The downstairs deck area is communal and you may unfortunately hear the above mentioned teenagers inside the main house.
Overall we were a bit let down by the noise and lack of privacy outdoors. It wasn’t quite the peaceful calm getaway we expected… but it has potential to be great.

All was perfect. If I had to find improvements, the only thing I can think of is to add some oven gloves to the apartment.

We had 5 very nice days in Domacija Metul. The accommodation is top modern, very tasteful and furnished to a high standard. Tomaz is an excellent host, incredibly nice and obliging. We were greeted with homemade apple juice, dried herbs for tea and lemon schnapps, were allowed to help ourselves daily to the hotel’s own vegetable garden and our children especially loved Flika the dog. The pool was also an absolute highlight with loungers, parasols and big enough to swim a bit (there is a counter-current system).
The only thing that didn’t always work 100% was the wifi. But that wasn’t a problem for us.
We can absolutely recommend the accommodation and would come back at any time!
The owners are very friendly and accommodating. There is a garden of fresh vegetables for hosts to utilize. The veranda is inviting with comfortable outdoor chairs and tables, two grills and a panoramic view of the mountains,. The apartment is clean and well equipped with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. The property is just slightly removed from the local town, but close enough to access groceries, a cash machine or restaurants. Within short drives are trails for a range of abilities, including the Alps or flat trails.
I liked everything. Be aware that there are cows on the property. The smell is not strong, but it is present when the wind blows a certain direction
