General

This modernly furnished house is located at the end of a 50 meter long dead-end macadam road. Up to this macadam road it is a nice asphalt road. The house is located about 2 km outside the village and overlooks a gently sloping hillside with fruit trees where a small herd of sheep graze and one can regularly see a few deer grazing.

The house consists of a large open kitchen with dining area. Through an open connection one enters the living room with radio and TV. The TV has only German and Austrian programs via satellite dish. Through this room one goes via the spiral staircase to the upper floor with two spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has two double beds. Both bedrooms have their own balcony. The bathroom, toilet and sauna are on the ground floor. The equipment in the kitchen is shown in the accompanying photos. Cell phones have excellent reception. Internet is available.

Pets are not allowed in this house.

Surrounding

At 600 meters flows the crystal clear cool water of the Savinja with its abundance of trout. One can walk directly from the house into the freely accessible forests without being hindered by fences or angry owners. The area offers excellent cycling opportunities through the Dreta and Savinja valley. The most beautiful cycle route descriptions are available in the house. Swimming, kayaking and rafting can-men in the nearby Savinja. Stores can be found in Ljubno, Gorni grad and Bočna. A little further away in Mozirje there are three supermarkets. The Golte ski center, with its quiet slopes and excellent ski school, is 7 km away. Check out their website www.golte.si.  In Velenje are several museums located in the castle above this town. Especially the mining museum is an impressive experience. Further into the Savinja valley you will find the ice cave ¨Snezna-jama and the nature park Logarska Dolina with its many hiking trails through the woods and waterfalls. At the end of the valley is the border crossing to Austria. Through this pass you can drive to Klagenfurt to visit the beautiful Minimundus mini park. The Slovenian tourist attractions of Bled, Ptuy, Lipica (home base of the famous Lipizzaner horses) are all within an hour’s drive via scenic routes.

Location

In the quiet sun-drenched valley of the Savinja, the vacation home is hidden in the forest edge. It is located 5 km from the town of Gornji grad and 2 km from the village of Ljubno on Savinja. The Savinja and Dreta valleys are excellent places for fine cycling trips because the roads are not steep. Bicycle routes are indicated. For hiking one has the choice to walk through the mountains or to choose the more flat areas. A visit to Ljubljana 60 km and Maribor 60 km through the local roads is a real pleasure because of the beautiful views you pass along the way. Supermarkets can be found in Mozirje 15 min drive you will find 3 large supermarkets with a wide range. In the ubiquitous Gostilna’s you can enjoy an original Slovenian Malisa (lunch) for € 5.00 p.p. They also offer many Balkan specialties at very pleasant prices. In winter this house is an ideal accommodation for winter sports enthusiasts who want to learn to ski on “Golte” or want to cross-country ski on the trails created in the nature park Logarska Dolina.
