Holiday Home Zagmestri in Slovenia

General

The completely romantically restored and originally Slovenian furnished vacation home “Zagmestri” is located on a gently sloping slope of Mount Savinja and can be reached via a good asphalt road. The house has a beautiful view over the valley.

It is equipped for use by up to 4 people. There are 2 double bedrooms, the master bedroom has an extra bathroom, a bathroom with shower. A fully equipped modern kitchen, living room with an original bread oven stove and satellite TV-radio makes your staying perfect. In the main hall is a large fridge where you can keep the drinks cool for drinking at the covered terrace.  An extra bed is available for a small child.

Around the house are several places to enjoy the sun all day. Everything is at ground level only the for entering the house there is a wide staircase with two steps. There is covered parking for 2 cars. A wonderful place to start exploring the Savinja Valley.

The huge garden offers various spots to enjoy the sun throughout the day even until late in the evening. At the large pond you can enjoy the splashing water from the water filter while lazing.

Surrounding

The town of Ljubno with its supermarket and several restaurants is within walking distance. The supermarket in the village is open until 19.00 hours. In the restaurants you can enjoy a delicious meal for a small price until 22.00 hours. Popular are the delicious trout from the river Savinja. For a larger supermarket you have to drive to Mozirje where there are three large supermarkets with a Dutch range Spar, TUS and Hofer (Aldi). The clear water of the Savinja river though on the cool side invites you to take a nice swim. For those who prefer to swim in warmer water, there are several lakes and pools in the area. Outings such as Sneznajama (snow cave) the mining museum and the nature park Logarska dolina are easily accessible from this house.

Location

The house is located in the Savinja valley 10 min walk from the town of Ljubno. Directly in the neighborhood flows the river Savinja. One of the most attractive rivers in Slovenia for fly fishing on trout and grayling. This river is also accesable for a sporty vacation with rafting and kayaking. Thanks to its central location you can reach Ljubljana and Maribor by car within an hour. The nearest town is Celje. In Mozirje there is a health center with ambulances where you can get first aid from English-speaking doctors. The nearest very modern hospital is in Celje, 30 minutes drive by car.

Canoeing on a substantial flowing part of the Savinja.

Swimming in crystal clear waters of the lake at Velenje.

A horseback or carriage ride through the area.

Rafting through a wildly flowing section in the upper reaches of the Savinja River.

A day wandering through the ˝Logrska dolina˝ nature park which lies against the Southern Alps.

A visit to the capital Ljubljana or the famous town of Bled is also great.
