Mountain hut Chalet Alec in Slovenia

General

This house is located on the south side of the Menina (the mountain range) with a breathtaking view of the valley. The balcony faces south and there is a large terrace where you can sunbathe without a care in the world. From the house you can walk straight into the woods and enjoy wandering through the area. On the ground floor there is a very large living room with open kitchen and a washing machine. A partially covered terrace with garden furniture and swing. A sauna is available for those who want it.

On the second floor is the living room with TV and radio and the dining room with fully equipped kitchen, the bathroom with shower and toilet. The hall with the front door that opens onto the higher part of the garden with a large bbq and garden furniture where one can take the meal outside in the shade.

The covered balcony is adjacent to the room and can be accessed from the living room. Via the stairs you reach the second floor with three double bedrooms, both bedrooms on the southeast side have a balcony. There is a crib in one of the bedrooms.

Through a surprising piece of unpaved road with an exciting incline and according to a paved road with beautiful views of the Savinja valley you will arrive in the valley at the town of Ljubno where you can do all your shopping. The road into the valley will take you past Robanov Kot, through the town of Luce and through the village of Solcava, then you will come to the beautiful National Park Logarska Dolina.

Via the high Panoramska cesta with its fabulous views, you drive back to Ljubno. For extensive shopping one drives to Mozirje with its three supermarkets and Mozirski Gaij. Because we have no heating, the house can not be rented in the winter. The range with the GSM is excellent. To ensure the peace there is no Wifi in this house. Would you like to use the Internet then you will find the hotel Planina in the village where you can use their free Wifi on the terrace.

Surrounding

From the house one has extensive hiking and scrambling opportunities through the surrounding woods with its rich flora and fauna. it is always surprising to see a deer, fox or grouse disappear into the bushes.

The Savinja and Dreta valleys are excellent hiking and cycling areas with various attractions including the ice cave (Snezna jama) on Mount Raduga the nature reserve “Logarska dolina” the cathedral and folk museum in Gornigrad. The only lignite mine that brings lignite to the surface through mining tunnels instead of opencast (surface excavation) with its mining museum and the castle of Velenje. Rafting, canoeing, fly fishing, horseback riding, parasailing and swimming are all available in the immediate vicinity. Ljubljana and Maribor, the university cities of Slovenia, can be reached within an hour via romantic shortcuts. The caves of Postonja and Lippiza (horses) as well as the historic town of Ptui can be reached in just over 1.5 hours.
